Straight out of the B-Line Recordings camp comes long time wax manipulater and producer Jabbathakut. So, speakers set up, sun shining and i'm set to sit back and listen to see what goodness it has to offer.

Jabbathakut is a name i've seen attached to many great UK releases lately. His skills on the decks have earned him a dedicated following within the culture and a strong reputation for being one of the best scratchers in the scene today. It's exciting then to see a whole wealth of his work filling up a beautifully put together 12 inch. The names attached should be weight enough to gain it some attention, so we're expecting quality hip hop vibes and bangers galore. And he does not disappoint.

Hailing from the southcoast, Jabbathakut is a well established figure in the UK hip hop scene. With music spanning over 20 years, Jabbathakut has produced for, supported and laced cuts for many respected artists. Heads the likes of Jehst, Evidence, Special Ed, Dr.Syntax, Dotz, Foreign Beggars, Scratch Perverts and many more have utilised the skills and mindset he brings to the table. With this release he has brought the knowledge he gained to full fruition and created something that is proud to be both original and have a firm hand in the roots of the culture.

"With this album there is a mixture of UK and US MCs so I wanted the vibe of the album to capture that raw boombap underground hip-hop sound that we all love so much." - Jabbathakut

Jabba has a sound that caters to the MC or scratch DJ he's working with. Each track here accompanies the relevant artists with confidence and he clearly has a refined ear for the UK sound as well as the classic US approach. Calling upon many of his favorite artists, Jabba has forged something inclusive and approachable. Favoring big, bouncing, jazz and soul soaked samples the album flows beautifully, bringing the eclectic mix of talent into one fluid product. Proving that not only can he scratch like a demon possessed with the spirit of legends like Grand Wizzard Theodore, but that he's also pretty damn adept at producing banging beats.

The highlights on the album are plentyful, so trying to narrow it down to just a few was always going to be a challenge. Bars layed by peeps from Caxton Press and Ugly Duckling's Dizzy Dustin take the ear drums by storm. The mighty Scorzayzee slays with fire and brilliant rhymes from Daneka and Shameless and Wordsmiff make those tracks burst their chests out with pride.

Truth is, as a work of art, it doesn't really falter. Each track on the album has its own charm and each boasts a whole heap of passion. Jabbathakut has done himself proud here and the scene will no doubt feel the same. Cuts, beats and features are all of the highest calibre and when orchestrated by the man himself it becomes a hip hop force to be wreckoned with. Formed to please the underground heads and DJs alike, this is sure to go down as one of 2016's highlights. Go to Big Cartel to grab your copy from B-Line now.
