Dropping less than a fortnight ago is a video and single by a live hip hop band making some waves at the moment - First Degree Burns. This track features the bars of Res One from Split Prophets, and builds itself around a ridiculously blaring horn fueled intro. Giving way for Res to twist syllables around his tongue, the track continues to chug along and builds to a glittering chorus. His lyricism is more than impressive, and the beefy melodies provided by FDB's front man are complimented well. The musicians here add a significant beast of a beat to the project, and hearing the way that the live element works with in current UK hip hop is nothing short of beautiful. The video is no less impressive, not the run-of-the-mill rage to camera we're used to, but a story told with two actors who more than fill the screen. Directed by Chris Lucas and produced by Ben Baikovitch-Fisher, it is a visual treat throughout. The video and track work brilliantly as one entity and we at Underground double H look forward to hearing more from these lot. There are some brilliant live hip hop bands to check out at the moment, and these guys are definitely added to my list of who to watch out for.
