Underground UK hip hop has expanded exponentially over the last few years, and far from mainstream radio and music television, an underbelly seethes with life. Together with this comes other artists and art forms, one of them being the 'video artist'. There are some videos that would rival any independent film or Hollywood blockbuster in emotion, concept and atmosphere.
Out at the beginning of July, the new video by Gasp is a fine example of just what the scene can achieve here in 2015. The beat is produced by the brilliant Conchis, and has one of the most eerie flows I've come across in a good while. Together with the video, edited by Gasp himself, the sensory experience leaves a lasting impression of the claustrophobia of our modern existence. The track, a massive drop by itself, is accompanied by the superb release 'Beyond The Comfort Zone', out now, and a must listen for all dedicated hip hop fans.
