We're back again with another full length review for an album we've been clucking to get our grubby hands on, it comes from the South West based rapper known by the alias of Mylo Stone and titled League Of Shadows! We first come across Mylo when reviewing his gaming related End Of Level Boss Music EP with Percy Filth 2 years ago, having heard the levels they brought with that release it's got us hyped to hear what the Leagues bringing to the table this time! Let's get into it.
Opening up with the Intro you'll be approached by a distorted voice as the entity introduces you to the League Of Shadows. The first full length track is Thunderclap with the genius Bad Habitz supplying the neck snapping beat, as Mylo Stone, Paro and Flying Monk lace the riddem with their pungent penmanship and flows! The Redux is the third track on the album which dropped July last year, this should have come across your radar by now! If it hasn't peep the official video below featuring Upfront and DJ Rogue on the production.
Skipping the wizardry of Tread The Trail FR Entra P (no reason, it bangs!) we land on track 5 which features one of the Split Prophets collective. Fuckem boasts a greasy beat that suits Mylo Stone to a T, not only complimenting his style but also Datkids who opens the track with his aggy delivery. This track is for all those who are fed up from the copious amount of shite out there that we're fed everyday, FUCKEM! Peep the official bandcamp plugin below to hear this track!
Live With The Sin has Bad Habitz bringing the funky production for Mylo Stone, Melissa Dawn Harper and Entra P to get busy with. This track brings nothing but soul to the forefront with the angelic hook by Melissa Dawn Harper and feature verse from Entra P who I've only discovered since reviewing this album, safe to say I'll be digging deeper into his music Key To The City is another one of my favorite tracks from the album, featuring Backlash on the production bringing daunting but mystical production to your dome piece. Assisting Mylo on the rhymes is Gimsung and Jinxsta JX (Three Headed Beast) each adding to the atmosphere the beat by Backlash builds throughout. League Shit is the eighth track from the League Of Shadows album and I can safely say it's made it into our top 10 tracks to come out of the UK this year. Alongside Mylo Stone you'll see and hear from Dotz and Res One while Urban Click brings the greasy platform for them to engulf with bars on that league tip! Nothing else needs to be said about this really, just hit the damn play button! Shout outs to Sektion Red on the video, coming with the goods as always!
In The Shadows has Urban Click on the production again supplying an alluring but greasy beat that draws you in every step of the way, featuring Bil Next on the second verse and the legend Si Philli on the third! Expect an onslaught of hard hitting bars from this deadly quartet. The album ends in a similiar style to how it started, with a short skit from the entity as he closes the curtains on the League, never to be seen again...
Unfortunately that brings the League Of Shadows album from Mylo Stone to an end, but fear not as this album has a lot of replay value within it. Mylo is one of those rappers that doesn't need to make ruckus when he's building up to dropping a release, because his penmanship, energy, passion and carefully selected producers/features makes his music travel far and wide. League Of Shadows is no exception to that factor with every track upping the levels and bringing that buttswanin' homegrown, if this isn't in your collection yet up your game!
Make sure you head over to his official bandcamp page below and grab yourself either the digital version or physical for a mere £5! League Shit alone is worth every penny of that! COP THE ALBUM NOW!
