Invokals been a blessing from the hip hop gods in assisting me with the runnings and expansion of this site, and his new track/video combo titled UFO (United Flowing Orators) is testament to just how hard this man works, and the end result speaks for itself. UFO contains the efforts of many people pulling together at first to drop a semi-normal hiphop inspired track, which soon ended up as a sci-fi inspired rhymefest! An official video was also created that resonates with the rhymes and it's simply stunning! The track has been produced by Dj Tones to bring you that intergalactic beat, with the following emcees laying down their verses in order! Invokal, Mista Websta, Tony The Scribe, Lennie, TS One and One Native Son! Alongside the rhymers we also have a guest appearance from comedian Alex Lynch and starring the beautiful Lucy Jones as your heroine. Invokal wrote and directed the video and Joel Shepherd really brought the vision to life with his video production skills! Shout outs to Mr Simmonds for mastering this beauty as well! Check out the official video below and scroll further for more about UFO and to claim your free download!
Broken Authors - UFO (United Flowing Orators) from Bluw Media on Vimeo.
One night, in a time long long ago... a child sits watching a cumbersome television set that bows the board it sits upon. In a chints filled living room, head poking round the corner of a dangerously flammable sofa, the boy watches with bulging eyes as creatures crawl across the screen. It was the 80's and science fiction was selling products to children as fast as they could drag their weeping parents to the stores. On the sparkling screen before him, monsters and alien life forms beyond his wildest imaginings speak to him in growls and gurgles. For years to come the likes of Darleks, Cybermen, Piiiiiiiigs Iiiiiiiin Spaaaaaace, Ewoks, Polymorphs, and all manner of strange space like men would direct his attention to the morals and decisions one faces in a universe full of uncertainty.
Invokal comments - "At its best, science fiction does one of two things. It provides the ultimate escapism, something all to essential in our exhausting modern times. And perhaps more importantly, it takes the viewer out of his own existance, just to look back at it with new eyes."
Skip forward in time to 2015 (I duno thumb a lift in a Tardis or something, i'm not your Mom) ...and standing before you is a science fiction nerd in an adult's body. Musically minded and hip hop enfused, this performer starts to form a plan for global, no wait - universal domination!
U.F.O began as a hip hop track, featuring some of the most exciting lyricists in the UK scene, and developed into something new and bold. A Hip Hop B-Movie with a Science Fiction twist and not only that - but a tribute to all those creators and writers that filled our days and our hearts with such comfort and magic. Collaborating with Bluw Media Studios, Broken Authors were able to nurture and grow what was once a hip hop track, into a sensory experience and a comedy delight. Taking place aboard a blackhole-converting-starship, and starring a cast of puppets that a young Jim Henson would be proud of, the song tells the story of L.J. Skywanderer on her nightmare to the stars and back.
Created, directed and designed by Invokal himself, the film is a testement to the hours of joy spent while crafting and making it possible. With a guest appearance from comedian Alexander Lynch, and starring the beautiful Lucy Jones as your heroin, the release comes as a wealth of parts. The film and the single come together with background stories for all the characters and post card images of the cast. Featuring music by DJ Tones, words by Invokal, Mista Websta, Tony The Scribe, Lennie, TS One and One Native Son.
