Sublime Wizardry are close to my heart. They are the collective vision of 2 Mcs, a DJ and a producer. The Remarkable One, (previously of 'Deliverance', Hundreth Monkey and Monkey:Sons fame) and Native Son (formerly Beats International) come together as activists for true school hip hop. This together with the flawless finger skills of DJ Tones, and one of Germany's premier producer exports Merlin. The team work as a close knit unit despite the ground between them. Previous albums have been received with adulation, so I was excited to see a brand new video pop up in my news feed.
The brand new track featuring Exile (of Warped Ethics one of the fiercest UK hip hop crews going) kicks off in their typical epicness. Erie sounds and a banging drum that shakes you even with the speakers down low, Remark kicks off with a passionate verse for the love of true music by artists and not by big business. Next up Exile takes the reigns and does it more than justice with a fire of syllables leading into DJ Tones doing ridiculously skilled things with the fader and wax. Native Son finishes things off in style, in a video with numerous clever references to the four elements we all know and love. This is heavy hip hop. Heavy and heart felt. Two things always at the top of my wish list. Watch the vid and check out more from the Wizards here:
