Bedford based rapper Zedo is a new name amongst myself, having been recommended by my brother Dotz I had no other option but to delve in and find out myself! Zedo's latest release comes in a mix tape form titled Coffeeshop, featuring a total of 14 tracks and available for free download, it would be incredibly rude to pass up this opportunity, with that being said, let's get into the review! Kicking off the Coffeeshop mixtape is Aiming High with the beat building slowly, Zedo steps in with elegant and crystal clear delivery exposing the fakers and snakes plannin and plottin to bring you down a notch or two, for no particular gain to themselves! Coasting ups the ante with straight up progressive vibes, zedo spews a barrage of rhymes showcasing exactly what he's bringing to the table, setting him aside from most other emcees in the game.
Skipping Analyse (no reason, it's a banger!) we land on Home Away From Home with stella neck snappin production and rhymes that'll draw you in with every word Zedo does nothing but impress with his entire style on this one, especially when intoxicated by that piff smoke! Calling is where you'll see Zedo get completely reflective, analyzing moments of his life, past and present - Zedo let's you into his mind and thoughts, delivering them again with sheer perfection! It's becoming quite clear that Zedo brings his A game with every beat he blesses.
Coffeeshop is the self titled track from the mixtape, featuring Daniela on the vocals, laid back, jazz infused tranquil production by RDN in which Zedo rides with head noddin flows, strong delivery and impeccable pengame that'll take you on a visual trip with the vibes it oozies. Check out the official video below!
Open Your Eyes continues with the dope self relfective production, Zedo does nothing but showcase his intricate and unique rhyme style through out the track, analyzing the current state of affairs, in our own back garden and those in other countries, definitely one of our favorites from the release.
Skipping a couple more tracks (again, no reason just saving some surprises!) we find ourselves on Foreign Lands, gliding over smooth production Zedo reflects on past decisions, getting older, moving to a new city and regrets while keeping the vibes uplifting and positive! I might've lied about what's my favorite track, Sanity could possibly be the one, featuring a greasy beat Zedo ups the levels with quick witted delivery, on point rhymes and pound for pound flows - showcasing that Zedo is one hungry rapper! We're going to cut the review short here, skipping out the last 3 years to savour yourself.
