There's only a handful of emcees and producers in the last 20 years who've managed to stay relevant and adapted with the times, from the likes of Jehst, Klashnekoff, Chester P and more, they soon cemented themselves as the veterans and key players. One name escaped me for longer than it should have, until I logged into our email and seen something awaiting me from Audio Danger, it only took me 0.01 seconds to realize, Inja is back in the game! Set to cause a ruckus with his latest project First World Living EP (17/11/14) featuring a total of 7 tracks. It would be a disgrace to not review this and I can't refrain my fingers from typing about it, so let's get into it.
The first track on "First World Living" is titled Speaker Attack where Inja goes in head first with a killer hook, breaking from the invisible leashes and letting his homegrown potent rhyme style loose on the beat, featuring an abundance of head nodding rhymes, a solid opening track for the EP. Cam Shores takes it down a notch with production on a self reflective tip, laced with food for thought and analytical rhymes Inja let's you take a journey through his life and mind. The Cooking Song is the third track featuring a neck jerking beat in which Inja en lights it with double time rhymes, barbaric delivery and ruthless flows! Inja gets busy with the subject matter cooking up masterpieces in the kitchen, with the rhymes and dishes he's been preparing. Check out the official video for "The Cooking Song" below!
Greatest is another track in which Inja kicks back and lays down more intricate bars on the struggles in life, attempting to ask the question of what it takes to be Great. Inja displays on this track with ease on how he can switch it up from the lively tracks to viewing from multiple perspectives and encapsulating the visitor with every bar spat - one of our personal favorites from the First World Living EP. Smoked Out is the track off the EP all the herbalists will be feeling, going through the motions of madness we all endure with day to day life, getting caught in a situation that's too big to handle, then blazing the chron smoke to forget a problem even existed. The self titled First World Living track boasts laid back production oozing vibes of tranquility through out creating a great platform for Inja to ride with his signature delivery, airing out the first world problems society faces and taking a step back from those moments to realize how better off you are compared to a large % of the globe.
Nothings Changed is the last track on the EP, upping the ante with a jaw swinging beat, if you know anything about Inja then you'll know when things get lively his rhymes feed off that and man reaches defcon levels, absolutely merking the beat with his flows, doubletime and presence! A solid track to end the EP off with, Inja may have just stepped in at the last minute and to steal EP of the year.
