Bristol-based uk hip hop group known as The Scribes are a Trio who have been bringing a new wave of hip hop since early 2002/2003. In 2005 The Scribes released their first record, The Evolution EP which was released on London based Unsung Records, the release has a total of 6 tracks. Bouncing back in 2008 The Scribes released their highly anticipated first full length album titled 'The Sky Is Falling' through Unsung Records showcasing their musical skill and lyrical ability.
They soon found themselves touring the UK at University's and Club venues across the country and then soon expanding into the rest of Europe. I have seen The Scribes live, unfortunately only once when they supported Jehst in Plymouth and any one who has seen these guys perform will tell you it's one of the most energetic hip hop nights they have witnessed, not to mention their phenomenal free-styling abilities.
Now in 2012 The Scribes are hitting us with yet another album, their new release is titled 'Ill Literature' featuring 9 tracks in total. The album features some of the sickest hip hop to come out of the UK featuring vibes similar to Atmosphere, filled with heartfelt poety over some banging beats.
You can listen and purchase their latest album over at their bandcamp page, remember that these guys are independent! So support them if you're feeling their music and keep an eye peeled for them playing in your city.
