Back in 2010 emcee Jam Baxter and Producer Jon Phonics teamed up to drop a song together for Jon Phonics album 'Half Past Calm 2' which was soon digested by many hungry hip hop fans, since then many heads have been questioning if they'll ever collaborate on a release again. It's been kept quiet and literally out of no where I had an email from High Focus containing... Fresh Flesh, a 4 track EP these two beings have been working on for the past month! Set to drop in under a weeks time, on the 20th of August we present our review of Fresh Flesh.
Fresh Flesh kicks off with a short intro featuring many samples and skits revolving around flesh! The self titled Fresh Flesh is next up, building the suspense with female chanting and demonic vibes from Jon Phonics, Baxter proceeds to lace the beat with his neck snapping pen game, lucid delivery and a stream of consciousness from the deadly duo! Rush is the third track opening with the tranquil vibes of chimes tinkling as the bubbling bassline builds in the background, Baxter slows down his flow allowing you to absorb every bar of his verbal wizardry! Checkout the official video for Rush below.
Last up on the Fresh Flesh EP is Eating compact with funky and bizarre sounds backed up with snare after snare to create a flawless and trippy platform for Baxter to lace with his complex writtens! You can grab yourself a copy of Fresh Flesh by Jam Baxter and Jon Phonics via High Focus dropping tomorrow (20/08/2014), also available on Itunes by clicking the album art below!
