Brainwave Canvas is one of the recent releases from Bad Taste Records by emcee Sniff and Producer/DJ Morriarchi, featuring a total of 11 tracks with boombap beats and vibes laced with cold menacing lyrics from Sniff and the many features. The album kicks off with track 'Mr Who?' with a lucid head nodder from Morriarchi with Sniff laying down his cold hard hitting flow and clear delivery, a perfect opening track to the album introducing their skill sets flawlessly.
The next track on the album is titled 'Why o' Why' and Morriarchi yet again lays down great production with a beat oozing a 1990's east coast vibe, straight away we're also hit with a big feature, Lee Scott from Children Of The Damned riding and complimenting the beat with ease. Illuzual and TK One also feature on the track and they both carry on the momentum making this track go from strength to strength, geez and we're only on track 2 of the album.
Skipping a track we find ourselves at Coffin Varnish featuring Jack Danz from Defenders of Style and Trellion, we visit the 1920's criminal world and seedy juice joints delivered with hard hitting wordplay, cold delivery. The beat is absoultely nuts and firmly puts Morriarchi on my list of favourite producers, check out the official visual for the track featuring scenes from the cult gangster film Miller's Crossing.
Skipping a few more tracks (you need to check it out yourself!) we land on track 8 is titled Crypsis and features Seapa Dee & Figment who all focus on dismissing weak/fake rappers, each emcee goes in on this track dropping knowledge, great penmanship delivered with some of the ill-est flows coming out of the UK right now.
Track 10 is titled Hawaii 5-0 and is possibly our favourite from the album, featuring tranquil and mysteriouos vibes from Morriarchi, subject wise the track focuses on the mind of a scumbag corrupt-cop. Alongside Sniff we also see a feature from Jman (G V Clik) and Joe Dirt (Squid Ninjas Records) both of these emcees carried the vibes on with their unique flows and style of delivery, creating a vivid array of imageriny which each bar. The track also has a visual on youtube this time using scenes from the classic film Bad Lieutenant, check it out below.
You can get the album from their official Bandcamp page for a small fee of £5, we guarantee it's worth every penny. Make sure to check it out here.
