Southwest rapper known by the name of Lusty is representing all the Country Bumpkins out there with his bars, flow and subject matter, he's been making all sorts of music since 1999 and recently had the chance to work on a solo old-school hip hop album. His album is titled 'Public Mental Breakdown' featuring a total of 13 tracks and is due to drop on the 4th of March. We've had the chance to listen to a promo copy of the album, so let's get into a little review!
Track one is titled 'Midlife Crisis' and features an uplifting boom bap beat, smooth flow and great head nodding bars, the track also oozes an old school vibe. A great opening track for his album but it's only a warm up to the mind of Lusty. Next up is a track titled Country Bumpkin which is nothing but a south-west anthem for all of the country folk, incorporating great lyrics and subject matter focusing around life in the sticks and the darkest secrets of killer farmers. An official video was also shot for the track, check it out below.
Track 4 features one of the sickest samples I've heard backed up with real lyrics airing issues surrounding the government, corruption and basically how crazy the word really is. Next up is Self Medication which is possibly one of our favourite tracks from the release cementing Lusty's spot in the scene with more old school vibes, straight up boom bap bars which is certain to get your head moving. An official video for the track has also been shot, check it out below.
There's many great tracks to mention such as Bad Places, Heaven or Hell, The Jeremy Vile Show and more, definitely not a release or an artist to sleep on. See the full track listing below and also stay tuned for the official release on the 4th of March, album available via AlexLusty.com.
