Justin Reginald Clarke Samuel was born on the 9th of October 1984 and is a Grime artist & hip hop artist who goes by the stage name of Ghetts (formerly Ghetto) from Plaistow, Newham, east London and he is of African-Caribbean (Jamaican/Grenadian) and Ghanaian descent.
Ghetts has been played on national radio stations many times, his music has been heard on BBC Radio 1, Kiss 100, BBC Asian Network and BBC Radio 1Xtra to name a few.
Ghetts used to be a member of notourious 'NASTY Crew', he later left and stated that the group has gone pear shaped due to the amount of people who joined the group. Ghetts later went on to found a grime collective titled 'The Movement'.
At the age of eighteen Ghetts was released from prison (2003) and soon after released his first mixtaped titled '2000 & Life' in 2005 which has a total of 24 tracks and features many collaborations.
2 Years later in 2007 Ghetts released his second mixtape titled 'Ghetto Gospel', he decided to take a different approach on this mixtape and create a mellow album with subject matter focusing around difficult times in his life such as Girlfriends and his mother. Ghetts decided to switch his style up to "prove people wrong", as he doesn't want to be labled as an aggressive rapper as he stated in an interview.
On the 21st of Febuary 2011 GrimeDaily uploaded an official video for a song titled 'Who's on the panel?', this song and video is directed towards the MTV base panel because they presented "Best of the Best: UK MCs 2010" and Ghetts was not included in the list at all. He then vowed to make a track dissing the panel, shoot a video for it and have it uploaded by the next day, the following day the track premiered on Kiss 100.
